How’s that Workin’ For Ya? A Dr. Phil Rant

dr. philI’ve NEVER Watched DR. PHIL

In fact, I don’t know what channel Dr. Phil airs on and what’s more, I don’t give a shit.

I know nothing about Dr. Phil.

In fact, the only reason I know this phrase “How’s that workin’ for ya” is because I’ve heard it.

I’ve paid attention to whatever popular culture I’m privy to when I decide to bring my head out of my business and take a walk into the world of drama and bullshit, which I try to leave as quickly as I entered!  LOL

So, you think I’m selfish?  Really.

Because I don’t want to watch television and waste important hours in my life that I’ll never get back to watch Dr. Phil tell people, who have made every excuse in their life to have their 15 minutes of fame by being a drama queen, that they’re f*cked up.  What was their first clue?

Maybe you learn something.  Mostly you’re entertained and you’ve decided to ‘veg out’ for the afternoon because life is just so f*cking hard…Even if you did learn something, what about what you learn do you IMPLEMENT?

Do you think Dr. Phil IMPLEMENTS?

What do you think Dr. Phil is like outside of that television show?  Do you think he spends a lot of time on drama and bullshit?  Do you think Dr. Phil sits down for hours on end and bitches and moans and talks about his ‘need’ and his ‘lack’. Do you honestly think Dr. Phil is going to spend more than 5 minutes with you? Probably not, unless you got something that will serve the greater good and increase the bottom line:  the ROI.

That’s why Dr. Phil makes millions each year.  MILLIONS of dollars.  Because he doesn’t focus on the bullshit.

What’s the difference between you and Dr. Phil?  Do you think it’s because he has a television show? What do you really think the difference is between you and Dr. Phil?  I can tell you, it’s not what you think it is.

Dr. Phil decides and creates.  He implements.  Dr. Phil IMPLEMENTS M.M.A. e.g., money making activities.  How many do you implement?  I bet I can tell you, just on average that you SPENT more MONEY than you EARNED today.

95% do that every day.  In fact, 95% will end up DEAD BROKE.  Where do you think Dr. Phil will be?  Yep, he’ll have his millions and he’ll be making more money off that money and then he’ll figure out how to create even MORE from what he has.  Do you think that’s selfish?  You may want to get off my blog right now…we don’t resonate.

dr. philDr. Phil has MORE MONEY THAN YOU…

And he has more money than most people in this industry you know why?  Because he IMPLEMENTS. He doesn’t wait for someone to make a decision.  He decides.  He makes an executive decision, creates and implements.  He has no interest in mentally masturbating over his decision.  He just does.  Deals with the consequences and moves on.  That’s why he’s got millions.  He’s not that different from you or me for that matter.  Dr. Phil decides.  Dr. Phil creates.  Dr. Phil IMPLEMENTS.

What’s the difference between you and Dr. Phil?

So, what is it that Dr. Phil does that you CAN’T DO?  It’s not that you CAN’T do it, it’s that you CHOOSE NOT TO DO what Dr. Phil does, that’s why YOU DON’T HAVE what Dr. Phil has.  Dr. Phil did what others wouldn’t so that he could have what others don’t have right now.  Dr. Phil didn’t wake up one morning to a multi-million dollar contract to be a television celebrity.  Seriously?  Is that what you think?  Get your head out of your ass!

“Do what others won’t do today to have what others won’t have tomorrow.”

That’s the difference between YOU and Dr. Phil.

Neucopia, 3-Ways, Viagara and Profitability…it’s NOT what you think!

Neucopia

900%+ Return Proves Profitable in More Ways than One

My initial investment in Neucopia provides me with a 900%+ return on investment in my first week.

The last time I made that much money I was trading options.

Flashback to life before Neucopia

The Viagara Proposal

It was a Tuesday evening when I was given the opportunity.

I was having dinner with my friend, David, a fellow broker who had been hot and bothered over this one drug stock that would definitively change the way men had sex.

It was bound to be an exceptional investment as he bought me another glass of wine told me about the newest trials and the inevitable breakthrough in male impotency.

Well, anything to help the fellow man (Everyone should have happiness I thought to myself) I clinked my glass to that and the conversation went like this…

David, “Nic, this stuff will a corpse hard!!”

Me, “Really? Yuck, just don’t think I’d like to be with a corpse.  But I think I can see your point.”

(there was a bit more said in that sentence, but quite honestly, I just don’t feel comfortable elaborating…if you’re one of my good friends you can interject what “Nic-isms” you think I would say! :)

Me, “Sounds like something I’d like to get in to if the timing’s right. What’s the put at right now?”

David, “It’s in the high 40′s low 50′s”

Me, “What’s the spread?”

David, “About 42.”

The rest is history and I won’t even tell you what I did that was even more risky than the option because most people would probably sh*t their pants knowing how I hedged this bet to make 2000%+ on my money.  Yes, it’s all legal.  No, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are completely 2000% ALL IN.  ‘Nuff said.

No. I’m not an options guru.

Let’s just put it this way, I got into trading in the early 80′s and have always been a true believer in creating wealth with the opportunities that no one else will take.  A visionary at heart and an entrepreneur to the core, that’s why Neucopia resonates with me so well.

I BELIEVED in something and ended up making 2000%+ on my money on that one deal.
Not typical.  Definitely do-able.

Like I said, the best business is conducted at the bar.

And so went my loan money and then some into a little known drug called Viagara that would, as David said, “…make a corpse hard.” LOL

I traded the option and Off I went to Europe, another story for another day.

neucopiaBack to the future….Neucopia is Here

This past week I invested in another opportunity to achieve maximum success.

I made a 900%+ return on my initial investment having had 3 days to market Neucopia to a cold market of people whom I didn’t know, and who didn’t know me!

It’ turned out to be an excellent investment in more ways than one.

I have a team of amazing Leaders whom I’m very happy and pleased to call my friends.

They see a vision with their investment in Neucopia.
They know where they want to be in a year.  Leaders with Neucopia helping others achieve abundance in their lives.
They know that by investing in themselves and their dreams in one year they will be where 99% of those who didn’t take that
opportunity WON’T.  They believe in the vision of Neucopia and in the potential they have with the unlimited opportunity.

Because they’re willing to invest in themselves today to have the things that the others won’t have tomorrow.

This is called ‘vision’ and it’s inspirational.  Movies are made about inspiration.  Stories are told daily about how ONE person inspired others.  Inspiration is what fuels our hearts and puts our dreams on the front burner instead of on the back one.  Neucopia has a vision and a visionary at its’ helm.

So what happens when you dream with Neucopia?

Well, Aron, my friend and trusted team mate made over $16k+ in one week.  Now, that’s a RETURN on INVESTMENT!  Not typical, but DO-ABLE.  (nothing about Neucopia is typical because entrepreneurs aren’t typical people).

Here’s something else that happened.  I was given an extreme privilege to be on the Neucopia Team Taining call with Ryan Williams on Saturday the 16th of June.  A privilege I do not take lightly.  This call proves how when you’re willing to do what others won’t to have the things others don’t have you can truly change your life and the lives of others.

Listen to the call I had with Ryan Williams, The Vice President of Neucopia’s Field Operations on Saturday before I ended up meeting him and the owner and CEO of Neucopia, Rich Cook in La Jolla to meet Team Neucopia!!

Neucopia Leaders ~ My Day With Rich

Neucopia

A Neucopia Leader day

starts out….surfing at Beacon’s and running the beach….

Memorial Day 2012 and I’m in San Diego after just having had a mind blowing experience with two Leaders in this industry who are using an ‘invisible funnel’ solution to achieve maximum results on automation.  I won the ticket to the event Online Income Revolution with Matt Lloyd and Daegan Smith, Greg GomezIII and Max Aria, after having launched my own product called Online Presence for Profit within 96 hours.

My product helps newbie marketers understand how to get their proprietary sites up and running based on the 6 Principles of Influence as written by Robert Cialdini.  It’s a foundation.  As is everything in this industry.  A Foundation on which YOU BUILD YOUR BUSINESS.

It’s a beautiful day, just having come back from my run on the beach from Leucadia almost to Del Mar and back and a bit of light surfing in choppy waters with my long board.  I’m happy to have the smell of fresh ocean air in my hair and  don’t want to wash it.  Then….the call.

Sushi with the owner of Neucopia

NeucopiaWe went to sushi at a local joint in Leucadia and talked about the plans for Neucopia from here to the future and what it will bring to those who end up becoming leaders in the company.

It was an excellently funny conversation and we found out we have mutual friends in common who I knew while attending Junior High School in La Jolla.  Amazing.  What six degrees of separation will bring when you start to ‘network’.  It makes me realize how much I love the area and how close I am to returning for good.

Rich fills me in and amazes me at how good he is at creating big teams of leaders

With a background of success after success, Rich Cook, Neucopia‘s leader, has proven himself as one of the most versatile work from home entrepreneurs of our time.   He went Platinum in one of the first online companies over 10 years ago after having broken both legs skateboarding. That’s another story for another day.

After building out his Platinum presence in less than 6 months in that one company he became a top income earner multiple times with high powered companies in the network marketing arena and having built teams into the hundreds of thousands of members, to using many of the tools and strategies available to our Premier Members in NEUCOPIA to create a top income in the affiliate marketing world, Rich is a leader’s leader.

Yet, more powerful than his ability to excel in virtually everything he does, perhaps Rich’s most powerful trait, is his ability to help others do the same. That, along with his ability to create friendships with everyone he meets, Neucopia’s partners could not have picked a more qualified, stronger, more committed CEO than Rich Cook.

With a background of success after success, Rich Cook has proven himself as one of the most versatile work from home entrepreneurs of our time.

A most excellent day spent learning and building a powerful relationship with Rich

I need not say much more other than, if you’re not in this company now before the launch on Monday June 4th 2012 you may want to re-think your position in the industry.

The comp plan as denoted in the videos on the Neucopia Dream Team YouTube site shows how powerful it is when people have a definite purpose to developing their teams.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime optin below to get on the Neucopia Dream Team!

A Lesson In Positive Mindset

Network Marketing:  Creating A Positive Mindset

Here’s a lesson I learned in positive mindset and
critical thinking.  It’s also a lesson I learned,
just now as I am editing this post, about The Law
of Attraction.

Why is it you think that some people are drawn
to you and some aren’t?

Why is it you think that you are drawn to some
people and others, not so much?

After your having purchased and bought into
every product and opportunity you still
have ABSOLUTELY NO success
in selling, distributing, or promoting these
products…and you’re wondering to yourself
How the heck do these people do this?

How are they attracting the people to them to
not only buy their stuff, but follow them, listen
to them and become their loyal fan base?

Even after everyone is creating massive amounts of
dollars every month, showing paycheck after
paycheck and winning all kinds of accolades
YOU’RE STILL sitting at your computer wondering to
yourself, is this really for real?

Moreover, your question keeps coming back to
is this really real for ME?

All the while, you’re dreams and your desires
and your goals are begging you to take the leap of
faith because seriously it’s all you’ve got right now as
you stare up from the abyss of debt that’s amassed all
around you!

Yet, how do I ‘attract’ this abundance into my life?

All you want is to feel that sense of freedom and
take a big deep sigh of personal peace knowing that
you too have money in the bank, have paid your bills,
have enough to put your kids through college, give
money to your causes, and love life the way YOU
DESIRE.

That’s all we want (well, basically).
And that’s what this business,
this industry of network marketing offers.
That dream.
The dream of living the life of YOUR DREAMS.

In your continued sense of optimism, you take to
your computer and you find an opportunity you
resonate with and you ‘go for it’.

Only to find that you’ve
busted another gut trying like heck to tell people about
this amazing opportunity you’re using.

We’ve all heard it before, “It’s Not The Product” People
don’t buy a product, they buy YOU!

You’re at a loss.  How am I to get them to like me
if they won’t even listen to me in the first place?

You shrink back into your computer chair.
Listless, lifeless and full of doubt.
Sometimes you cry.

I’ve felt it.  I know. I can feel your pain.

To coin the phrase,
“I’ve walked in the shoes”… of debt,
homelessness, fear, loneliness,
pain, hunger, sleepless nights in my car with my two
dogs having the police bang on my window yelling at me to
get out of the parking lot and “…find a home.”

“I don’t have a home…”

I would say in a whisper as
tears would well
up in my eyes and I would turn on the
car to drive and find another place
I could put my head down,
if only for a few moments
before the next interruption.

I’ve worked this business for over 3+ years

It’s been a struggle and a curse and a blessing all at once.

I’m going to share a story with you from the heart, for
real and you can call me out on it anytime you see me,
or anytime you just want to talk to me over the phone…
by the way, my phone number is below.

It was not too long ago that
I was told by someone whom I really respected and
admired that I was a pathetic piece of shit.

No, I kid you not.

In fact, this ‘coach’ as they referred to themselves as,
was preaching to many people during their
powerful calls that the DREAM is ours
to be lived and attained.

After reading my personal statements of desire and lifelong
goals,  they told me straight out that not only was I pathetic,
but that MY DREAMS were pathetic and so was my entire life.

In fact, according to them,
I was a meaningless piece of crap.

How could I be hearing this?

I was hearing such positivity and like-minded
thoughts from this person.

I had heard these powerful messages that
resonated with me and truly was
in awe of their amazing ability to speak eloquently
and with such succinct discipline.

Yet, when it came to me personally,
according to them
I was not worthy of the time
of day from anyone in this industry.
Especially them.

And, in this private conversation
an even harder blow to my psyche
and my vulnerability this
person referred to my age saying,
”…and you have a few years on all of
us so why don’t you just don’t go
get a j.o.b….”

WOA!!

Yep, that is the God’s Honest Truth my friend.

I was told I didn’t “get it” and that
I “stood for nothing”.  I was nothing.
In fact, I wasn’t even
worthy of them speaking to me
anymore and was abruptly hung up on
and forever banished from their life.

Wow!  That was a slap in the face and
a punch in the stomach.  I gasped for a breath
and worked to gain my composure as I struggled
with my insecurities.

And then….a moment of clarity.

I’ve been in this business for over 3+
years and have had my share of
struggles, trials and tribulations.

I’ve met others who’ve struggled too.

I’ve yet met others who are inspirations
to me and whom I have forged great
friendships and relationships with as
I’ve traversed into the network marketing
community as a Leader becoming well
known in the circles of the 7 and 8
figure earners.

Who was this person to invalidate me
with their speach?

Who were they to judge ME?

And to be so exceedingly cruel to negatively
demean and humiliate my dreams,
my life and my love for who I
have become and who I am as a person?

I don’t think I need to answer that question.

Here’s the reason I’m sharing this story with you today.

I want you
to know your continued faith
in this industry
is your continued faith in YOU.

I believe wholeheartedly we both are
capable of creating the life of our
dreams in this business if we sincerely believe in
ourselves.

I could have taken this terribly and could have really
worked myself into a place of demise, demoralization,
deception, and massive depression.  Especially
since the trust factor was involved.

I could have let this person’s words to
me resonate with the most
insecure and vulnerable side of me.

Instead, I chose not to listen.

Have you had a similar situation happen to you?

Have you had people make fun of your dreams?

Have you had people debase, disparage and demean
you and your dreams?

LISTEN TO YOUR INNER SELF.

Listen to YOU.
The beautiful person inside of YOU.
This person inside of you is telling you
to STOP and listen to yourself and
find your true love, your true passion,
your true life by design.  Whatever that
may be.

Yes, you can make money online.
Yes, you can make money selling other
people’s products.
Yes, you can achieve a significant income
doing so.

YES, you are capable, beautiful, amazing,
all powerful and an incredibly talented
individual on this planet.

So, I wanted to share this story with you because
it rings true for many of us.

Many of us are humiliated by our friends,
family and sometimes
(albeit, this is the first time it’s ever happened to me)
by our mentors whom we have put our trust in
explicitly.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel my friend
and you are that light.  YOU have everything
inside you that you need to succeed and success
is already IN YOU.

Believe in yourself, believe in what you’re doing,
believe in creating a life by design and for God’s Sake

Do Not Ever Listen to Anyone Ever Tell You Otherwise.

Peace, love and light from the heart,

How to Use Social Media to Create Leverage for Your Business

How to Leverage Your Business Using Social Media

Introduction to Social Media

Remember the first tape answering machines you could call your house phone, push a couple of numbers, a.k.a., your secret code and listen to your messages?  If you’re not old enough to remember this period of time when the dinosaurs were becoming extinct and Microsoft was in its first stages then all you have to think about is a world without cell phones and you’ll get the idea.

As I look back on this, I think this was the introduction to social media for all of us, but we just didn’t know it.  We used the machine for leveraging our lives and our time.  We didn’t have to go home to accept a phone call at a specific time and we had a way to keep in touch with our social circles without having the hassle of having to physically be somewhere.  We could be anywhere.  Voila Leverage!

Optimize Your Business with Funnel Vision and Start Leveraging

How to Use Leverage for Your BusinessI’m listening to an audio of Jay Abraham and Anthony Robbins and I can’t help but start this post because it’s truly fascinating what I’m learning and I want to share it with you.  Here are some of the questions I’m being asked.

  • How many better ways can you leverage your business?
  • What are the greatest opportunities you have in your business?
  • What other ways are you willing to operate?

How do you answer these questions when your business isn’t even creating a profit?

When you’re struggling just to hang on, go to seminars, make it to conventions and purchase the course you want to take so you can learn and implement, how can you answer these questions with an assessment that makes sense to you or anyone else for that matter?

And the bigger question, how do people know about you enough to know like and trust you to achieve a relationship with you so they are your customer for life?

How do I use the social media avenue to get my name, my brand, my product, my value out to the masses who truly need what I have to offer?  Hold, on, I’ll answer that in a moment but first,

How To Leverage Your Business Using Social MediaLeverage

Here’s a story about leverage and how we can use it in our businesses every single day.

You know that product IcyHot?  Have you ever used it?  I have.  It’s a great product.  Expensive too when compared to the good old BenGay.  But, it doesn’t stink and it works a lot better.

In the beginning days before the company sold for tens of millions of dollars to a pharmaceutical company Jay Abraham got involved with this company and here’s what he did.  The product cost $0.45 to manufacture and the company sold it for $3.00.  But, the product wasn’t selling.  Jay said, “We’re going to give the advertisers the product and let them sell it, keep 100% of the profits, in exchange for the contact information of the person who purchases IcyHot.”

So, IcyHot gave away their product to advertisers for free advertising in exchange for the contact information of the buyer.  They literally said, “You can sell this product for $3.00 and keep 100% of the profits if you’ll put a full page advertisement in your newspaper in exchange for the customer’s contact information.”

It worked like a charm.  The company was able to get $18million of free advertising and boost sales exponentially.  LEVERAGE using a social media platform.

Jay Abraham is a genius in this business of marketing and direct sales.  He once took a company from $300k in annual sales to over $500,000,000.00 in sales; yes, you read that right 1/2 billion dollars in sales.  In 18 months and he says, “It’s harder to make money slow.”

Leverage Using Social MediaHow to Use Leverage

Social media is your avenue to get to know people.  They start to trust you and voila! there’s a beautiful synergy that happens and all is well in your social media world.

But, people aren’t buying from you?  People aren’t flocking to your product?  People aren’t knocking down your doors to get your product?  What are you NOT doing that the others are?

Here’s what I’m learning.  The social media icons like Diane Hochman, Ray Higdon, Michelle Pescosolido, Mark Hoverson, Andrea Goodsaid, and others are using clues.  They started using the clues of other marketing professionals and following their footsteps.

How to Leverage Your Business

I'm the Holy Cow

They’ve leveraged themselves to achieve massive success in their field by using the tracks left behind that are indelible and etched into the pavement of network marketing.  They’ve used the system and the system works.  They’ve tweaked the system for their product and the system works.  They’ve created a funded proposal using the system and the system works!  Holy cow.

Ok, you’ve heard this before, but are you really applying it?  Are you really implementing it?  I know I haven’t been implementing a lot of what I learn because I haven’t learned how to manage myself in time, but it’s a process and I know I’m getting better at it because my product is starting to take formation and I’m actually getting it to market in the month of March.  So how will I promote it?  How will I let people know about what I have to offer and why they need my funded proposal?

Are you interested in knowing how I did it?  I’ll be updating you here on the blog so stay tuned.  In the meantime, check out the links in this post and think about your investment in yourself and your business.  What is it you want to achieve and how fast do you want to see your results?

Put On Your Big Girl Panties and Deal With It!

Put On Your Big Girl Panties and Deal With It!I Tripped when I put on my

panties today….

Yep, and not only did I trip, I fell on my buttox and bruised my cheeks and you wonder why women don’t want to wear high heels?  We can’t even put our panties on without falling down!

My partner called me this morning and had this tone in her voice … you know that tone when you’re in trouble but you don’t know what you did…but you know you did something and you know that something wasn’t good.  Yeah, that one.

It’s the tone of disappointment and frustration right before that special someone in your life who you really admire says, “Put your big girl panties on and deal with it Nic!”

I Need Some Perspective Here SisterPut On Your Big Girl Panties

I had made a big deal out of something that really wasn’t and was easily solved, but sincerely bothering me to the extent that I just freaked out because I couldn’t figure it out.  Sound familiar?  Oh No! Not you too?!!

Stop!  Breathe! Inhale! Exhale! Inhale! Exhale! Ok, now put one foot in the hole and step through the big girl panties.  Easy now, don’t trip.

Mmmmmmm….is this the m.o.? Making a big deal out of a banner?  Seriously?  Get a grip Nic!  Was it because of my problems I was experiencing the past two days, two weeks, three years, 5 years, or maybe that I felt like the whole world was crashing down on me?  Maybe it was because I hadn’t taken a deep breath  before I sent another email?  All of the above and every other check box on the quiz.

My big girl panties had shrunk along with the size of my brain capacity at the time of writing that email.  It happens.

Put on Your Big Girl Panties and Deal with It!Insert foot into mouth here

My partner told me a story about her j.o.b. which she’s really good at and just worked on a project for over 4 months and was told this by her team members,

“hey, ummm….that project you’ve been working on? you know the one you’ve been toiling over for months and months, hours and hours? yeah, that one. well, we’re gonna scratch it and go to something else and can you do this bigger and more hairy eye balled project for us instead?  And, can you have it done by…well, really really soon?”

All of  a sudden, my little banner fiasco that really isn’t such a big deal anyway because there’s another redirect I can use evidently, well, it became an embarrassment.  Oh good grief, Nic, did you even think that there are other people out there who have had just as many trials and tribulations as you?  Well, goodness NO! God Bless their little hearts.

Why Do I Feel The Urge To Embarrass Myself by Telling You This Story?Put On Your Big Girl panties and Deal with it!

Because, it’s  the simple-dumb of how out of kilter things may seem in our lives and how into our own little worlds we continue to fester more often than we care to admit.

When we can’t find the solution we tend to blame or become frustrated in our attempts to keep our thinking along the same lines as the problem instead of working it out where we find a solution.  Perspective is illusory in this state of mind.

I’m not the only one that’s culpable of this thought process.  You are too, and if you think you’re not, then you seriously need to check yourself.  No, I’m not kidding.  Yes, that’s a call out on your b.s. that you’re telling yourself.  We have all done this and we continue to do this to inhibit ourselves from succeeding.

The Making of an Entrepreneur: 5 Ways to Build Value And What Actions To Take

Successful EntrepreneursSuccess is as Success Does:

The Rinse and Repeat Process

Today I was reading an email, not something I should be doing right now because I have so many other things I need to accomplish.  But, this particular email stood out and I wanted to share some of the most valid points this multi-millionaire network marketing professional decided to share with me.

This is one of those times when that nugget of information jumped out at me and I am going to use these powerful tools  to help my business achieve maximum results.  Today was one of those days when I read something I genuinely feel I should share with you.

making of an entrepreneurCaveat Emptor

Let the buyer beware.  As an entrepreneur I find there are things that resonate with me and then there are other things that really don’t.

As I’ve been told and hit over the head with many a time is to find a system I can use that shows me a valid and viable rinse and repeat process from those who’ve left clues.

Those who’ve been in the business and have proven their reliability as a network marketing professionals.  Those who’ve made millions by adding value.  There is a system out there for this, in fact, there are multiple systems.  The one that I have found that works for me may or may not work for you.  You’ll have to figure that out on your own.

Now, on to the reason I wrote this post in the first place….

What makes Them so Different?

What confounds me is how do they do it.  These millionaire network marketing professionals.  The fact these people are just like me, but their success is phenomenal is what baffles me and I have to ask myself,

So what makes them any different from you and me?

  • Is it mindset?
  • Is it unlimited pockets?
  • Is it who they know?
  • Is it what they know?
  • What is it that makes these people different?

Successful EntrepreneursDemigods of Network Marketing

These ultra-uber-super fantastic entrepreneurs who’ve created millions in their businesses by recruiting thousands in their downlines are seriously just like you and me.

They’re not demi-gods with halos around their heads, they’re just plain ‘ol folk, I know because I’ve met them.  I’ve had conversations with them, I’ve learned from them and I keep creating my business to be better because I want to achieve that level of success just LIKE them.

Now, maybe that sounds a bit kavitchy to you and you’re wondering why it’s so important to me to create that much success – let’s just put it this way; we all have our own reasons.  You have yours, I have mine.  The point is that success is as success does and this isn’t about me anyway, it’s about building your successful business.

So I’ve looked at a few things these people do that I can rinse and repeat myself.  One of them is to stop checking email! :0 I can tell you that’s a real waste of my time and yours too.  If we’re building our businesses we’re not getting there by creating more busy work for ourselves.  Leave the data entry and answering of emails for the outsourcing you’ll be doing sooner rather than later.  **I realize this statement flies in the face of what I just said. I have no excuse.  I’m writing this post because of an email I received and wanted to share with you, what can I say?!

I received these words from a very powerful network marketing professional in this industry whom I have met personally and have a great amount of respect for and who built his business from the ground up with nothing more than a cell phone and a lot of guts to dream the biggest dreams he could come up with – his is a story of inspiration.  He’s Jay Kubassek and he’s probably one of the most influential network marketing professionals this industry has ever seen.  Here’s what Jay has to say.

5 characteristics

1. Build relationships.

This is a skill set that good entrepreneurs and salespeople have that involves cultivating trust within others for you – and through that, trust in what you’re offering. And there are two types of relationships: physical and virtual.

Physical relationships are the most important, as they are the ones you interact with in real life. And you’ll never know when they will pay off, but you don’t look to make that connection just for the end result. Do it because of what the entrepreneur’s overall mission should be: helping people solve their problems and providing value to them. If you have an agenda outside of that, the relationship won’t have the same value to you down the line.

Relationships pay off in spades in ways you cannot possibly predict. These are the value of industry events where you can meet like-minded people who may one day benefit you in ways you won’t know now.

Virtual relationships (fans on FB/Twitter, email lists, etc.) are important too. There must be a strategy or reason these relationships exist. Think of them as little seeds you are planting, like redwoods in California. You can’t dig up seeds too quickly and try to harvest the fruit too early; they’ll yield that harvest when they are ready. Give nature its time to grow the relationship. Be proactive, be patient, and think long term.

2. Provide inspirational leadership.

Focused and deliberate mental energy is difficult to generate. We only have a finite amount of brainpower per day where you can be absolutely sharp and on your game. It’s what you do with that time that will make the day count. Being a student of leadership and committing to inspiring other people takes work and mental energy, but the payback is much more rewarding. It’s the best investment you can make in yourself. People want to be lead. Lead them, and they’ll appreciate (and reward) you for it.

3. Create content.

You can create or share content with others. People with similar interests will flock to you when you provide content that they are interested in. You can also write opinions on what you read and share. Every time people experience that value, they’re going to feel an attraction to you and what you offer.

4. Be a pattern interruption to people.

Be bold and help them step outside their comfort zone. Have those “1% conversations” with people, which are about taking the gloves off and holding people responsible for their own growth. It’s not about preaching to people; it’s about holding them accountable to themselves and what they’re capable of. They will love (and reward) you for it.

5. Whatever you are selling or promoting, make sure it does two of these three things: meet a need, solve a problem, or make life easier.

Makes sense, right? Those are the WHAT that provides value. Now, we go into the HOW you can do it here and now. Here are 10 concrete actions you can take that will help you maximize the value you’ll be able to provide (and through that, the rewards you’ll set yourself up for long term) as an entrepreneur:

Always look to grow and improve yourself. It’s a lifelong process.

Be around birds of the same feather. You’ll be amazed what you learn, and what you’ll teach.

Hang around the right people with similar goals and you’ll feel a greater drive to accomplish yours. Iron sharpens iron.

Be willing to consider new things you haven’t done before. There’s always something different you can do better that will yield better results.

There’s a lot of things we assume and project onto the world. These wrap us and constrict our possibilities. Don’t let you hold you back!

You already know what it means to lead – it means showing up the way you’re capable of showing up. It means being the example you know you can be.

Develop those sales and marketing skills. Experience different places and cultures to have perspective on what needs there are out there. You’ll have a better grasp of how to help with them.

8. Read.

There’s infinite content out there just waiting for your mind to absorb.

If you don’t like reading, get books on CD or video. Everyone is capable of absorbing info in some way.

10. Make sure you have 10 minutes a day where you have complete quiet time when your mind stays still.

Find a quiet place and exist in only your own space. Doing this, you’ll allow your subconscious mind to take over and have those “a-ha” moments. When you stretch your mind about something, it continues to work subconsciously behind the scenes even after the conscious thought has passed. And the next morning or week or whenever, you may find yourself hit by a moment of clarity inspired by that. (I find that late night is a great time to do this, because it primes your brain to fire up that subconscious part of it and work through the night.)

What To Do To Engage Your Audience on your New Facebook FanPage with Timeline

What To Do To Engage Your Audience on your New Facebook FanPage with TimelineThe Scramble to Get Your FanPage Up and Running Q-U-I-C-K

It’s been in the works a while, but as always with Facebook everything is hush hush until the day it goes LIVE and leaves people scrambling for answers to the question of ‘how to’ and what do I do now?

So Facebook has integrated Timeline into their FanPages and it’s caused a hub bub of excitement from here to the next universe – because we all know Facebook is taking over the next universe :)

But, the real question on all of the administrators minds’ (that’d be YOU) is ‘how do we get our FanPages to engage our customer base?

Well, here are some tips on how to engage your audience with your new Facebook Fanpage using the Timeline.

Where’s The Default Landing Page?

What To Do To Engage Your Audience on your New Facebook FanPage with TimelineFirst, things first.  There is no ‘default’ landing page, therefore if you’re with MLSP and you have a Facebook Fanpage with a default landing page, that’s no longer there.  You can’t ‘tell’ your customer where to go first, they now have the full monte experience when visiting your page so you gotta make it really good to begin with.  Engage them, enlist them to search for more and find out more about brand you, inc.  Here are some great references on how to create a cover page that your audience will not only appreciate but want to engage in by clicking on your posts, pictures and interesting commentary that you’ve presented.

For those of you who are MLSP’ers the button for the landing page that you had created is still there, it’s just under the cover picture.  If you didn’t add an icon for it, please do so.  To change that icon, go to your applications tab and change that particular application with an icon.  If you get confused, check in the back of your MLSP member area and Jim Fanale goes over this in some depth.  This particular option is available only to those who are MLSP Platinum Members.

TimeLine FanPage Cover Creation

Pinning Your TimelineWhat To Do To Engage Your Audience on your New Facebook FanPage with Timeline

One wonders if Pinterest and this Timeline with Facebook are not synonymous, I haven’t much looked into the incestuous behavior in social media with respect to the two, but I can honestly say I have a high suspicion that Pinterest and Facebook are one in the same.  Pinning things to your wall or your board is kind of like having a roaming Vision Board with you at all times.  With TimeLine you can pin happenings to your wall that will stay up there for a week and will never lose their place within the structure of the timeline.

For example, let’s say you launched a new product and wanted to pin that to the top of your page for a week.  Definitely can happen.  And, you don’t lose that ‘pin’ post within the timeline.  It’s put in the timeline and will carry on as a status post within the context of your fanpage.

Timeline organizes posts in a way that advocates the history of your FanPage as opposed to stacking posts one on top of the other to inevitably make the user ‘scroll’ forever to find what they may be looking for on your Fanpage.  Stories and posts are staggered to the right and left of the TimeLine…voila! How perfect to name it thus “TimeLine”.  Oh Facebook, you little mishoogana you.

When you look at the TimeLine you can see MORE  stories, pictures and ‘stuff’ about your FanPage that’s relevant, all at once instead of having that inevitably long loading time that you had before.  Pretty cool if I do say so myself, because it presents us with some nifty favorable circumstances.  **That loading time is especially evident  if you’re using a Droid Hotspot that works sporadically like mine – even though I live in the heart of Silicon Valley. There will be another post on that issue later.

Masonry Layout + Infinite Scrolling = Addiction to Scrolling through Timeline

I’ve read about the masonry layout + infinite scrolling and you know what that means, longer times on your site when you have some really good stuff to share.  People love to scroll.  It’s like the remote on the television, scrolling through channels, likewise, scrolling through your Facebook Fanpage Timline.  Scrolling is synonymous with gambling, you just never know what you’re going to get when you scroll, or what you’re going to see, read, or experience for that matter.

In this article about Pinterest, an analysis of why Facebook’s adoption of these two features in tandem (masonry layout + infinite scrolling) created an addictive browsing experience:

“It’s interesting to note that the Facebook News Feed, the epitome of website addiction, uses infinite scrolling. Further, the new Timeline pages now combine this technique with a two-column masonry style layout.”

The rest of this post is a copy of an email I received that inspired me to write this post and I’m very grateful I have the opportunity to re-post it to you and show you some awesome ways you’ll be able to create your Timeline on your FanPage with the “je na said quoi”  and “joie de vivre!” that you’re going to exude as a network marketing professional.

The rest of this post is located HERE

The most powerful and effective way that I have seen early adopters creating compelling content is by utilizing the highlighting, back-dating and milestone features of the new Timeline for Pages.

Highlighting a post will change it to a full-width format, rather than half-width like most stories. This is great if you are highlighting a photo or a video because they get much more room to shine.

Milestones are posts that highlight a moment or story in the history of your brand (or the world). You can add milestones to any point (date) in your Timeline. By default, milestones appear in the highlighted post format (wide).

Back-dating is essentially creating a milestone out of any previously published post, and these storied can be more than just images and text (learn more below).

How to create Timeline milestones

(Note: these screenshots are taken from the super-helpful Facebook Marketing Department’s video: learnfacebookpages.com)

1. Create Milestone from your Timeline composer. The “composer” is the box where you can create a status update or milestone.

2. Specify date, and pick a photo. Milestones must include a photo, but a story and location are optional.

3. Save milestone to your Timeline. Now users can find this story in your Timeline navigation.

Backdating Timeline posts:
If you want to include other types of media (video, links, albums, etc) in a past post on your Timeline, you can create the post as a normal status update, not a milestone, and then change the date of the post in the composer.

Examples of Pages with Timeline History

The following Pages have already filled their Timelines with loads of interesting milestones that tell storied about their brands. You don’t necessarily have to be a company with 100 years of history to do this – you just have to get creative!

Macy’s

The New York Times

People.com Magazine

Today Show

Ford Motor Company

Starbucks

Coldplay

Coca-Cola

Use Timeline to lead your Fans to your new content

So you added a bunch of milestones to your Timeline… How will people know to go look there? Here are a few cool ways that some of the Pages mentioned above are letting their Fans know about the new Timeline feature:

The New York Times pinned this post to the top of their Timeline:

Macy’s had another good idea – they actually asked Fans to help with the Timeline population, asking them to upload memories they shared with the brand onto the Timeline:

Hopefully this has given you some ideas — now YOU tell us, what sort of milestones can you add to YOUR business Page Timeline?

Facebook Timeline for Brands: How To Create Your Page

Facebook Timeline for Brands: How To Create Your PageHow Do I Create My Facebook Fanpage Timeline?

So, I had to contact a company here in the East Bay of San Francisco.  Seriously.  I was looking for ‘how to’ and I just couldn’t find it, so I decided to make this quick video for everyone so they know HOW TO, create their Facebook FanPage Timeline.  Caveat, I didn’t get the same login page as is shown in this Hubspot blogpost HERE, so I had to figure something else out, which is why I made the video below.

First, a bit of a caveat so you don’t freak out on me and leave me mean messages (leave nice one’s below!)

Facebook Timeline for Brands: How To Create Your PageWhat Hubspot Has To Say….

I’m citing this article by Hubspot, as I mention above, because it has some good information that you need to be aware of BEFORE you create your timeline on your FanPage:

In the ‘About’ section of the tour, you’ll first be prompted to choose what’s called a cover photo for your page. If you’re familiar with Timeline for personal profiles, this is similar to the large banner image that is shown at the top of the page. For pages, the cover photo dimensions are 851 x 315 pixels.

Choose an image that is representative of your brand, and don’t be afraid to get creative with it (here are some great examples from Social Fresh to spark some creativity).

You can change it as often as you wish, but you should also adhere to Facebook’s policies regarding cover photos, which states that cover photos cannot include:

  • Price or purchase information, such as “40% off” or “Download it at our website.”
  • Contact information such as a website address, email, mailing address, or information that should go in your Page’s “About” section.
  • References to Facebook features or actions, such as “Like” or “Share” or an arrow pointing from the cover photo to any of these features.
  • Calls-to-action, such as “Get it now” or “Tell your friends.”
  • Covers must not be false, deceptive or misleading, and must not infringe on third parties’ intellectual property.

No calls-to-action? A little bit strict, Facebook … don’t you think?

You can infer that you must be very aware of what you’re doing on your Timeline in order to stay in compliance with the big FB brother.  Also, be very aware of the current ‘bugs’ in the system, you can read more about those HERE.

Of course, the pixel width and height of the pictures you will be putting on your Fanpage are crucial to be spot on if you want them to look really awesome.

Timelines and Branding: How Will You Brand YOU, Inc.?Facebook Timeline for Brands: How To Create Your Page

Here’s another article for you to reference in Mashable that references Timelines and brands.  Something we can all pay attention to because we’re all working to brand ourselves to appeal to others.  I’ve written a ‘sister’ blog post on such information, you can read it HERE.

There’s an excellent resource HERE for learning how to brand yourself if you’re so inclined to take it to the next level with growing your business.

Hitches in the giddeyup

For those of you who are getting hitches in your giddeyup and don’t get the same picture in the window of the above mentioned post, I’ve posted a video (see below) on how to cut to the chase and get this completed without having to fuddle around in la la land hoping to find an answer to your question.

Facebook Timeline for Brands: This is HUGE

Facebook Timeline for Brands: This is HUGEHow Will You

     Flaunt Your FanPage Timeline?

You heard it all over the web and the social media bar and grill, like toothpaste to the mirror it’s now stuck on Facebook users and it’s called Facebook Timeline.

Well now, Facebook has a new Timeline for Fanpages that have been created and will be created by artists, writers, businesses, corporations and network marketing professionals too (just to name a few).  Woo Woo Woo….

This is very cool, because it allows us to create our fanpages with some flair, some je na sais quoi, if you will.

  • So, how will you flaunt your FanPage TimeLine?

Facebook Timeline for Brands: This is HUGEEvery Picture Tells A Story

Now your network marketing business has a history and that shows solid development to others.  For those network marketing professionals who insist that plastering their affiliate links everywhere, so that everyone doesn’t click on them,  the new Timeline will force them to add value to their FanPage.  I’ve learned, plastering my affiliate link doesn’t get me anywhere and hasn’t gotten me anywhere and people just don’t care.  Now, this video and blog post may help me boost my notoriety in Facebook Land as a ‘person of interest’.

Timeline allows people to engage and tell a story even if you’re not very good at telling stories.  This makes it engaging to those who are interested in YOU.  For big brands like Burberry, McDonald’s, Coke, Facebook Timeline for Brands: This is HUGEPepsi, etc. this move is strategic to getting these companies to develop trust with the over 800 million users currently on Facebook.  Trust is a huge factor in this industry, as you well know.  What conference have you gone to where “Know Like and Trust” isn’t the first point referenced in relating to your potential market?  Well, if you haven’t gone to a conference YET, then get to NESIII and you’ll learn a great deal more about such things, bug I digress.  (Click HERE to get to NESIII)

What Are People Looking For?

     ….ask yourself the same question

We are all searching for entertainment.  We love entertainment and Facebook Timelines entertain people.  They can find out more about you by finding out more about your past via the pictures you post.  Mashable quotes Dr. John Medina here when talking about what people are most interested in and how they learn.

According to Dr. John Medina’s book Brain Rules, vision is our most powerful sense, and “we learn and remember best through pictures, not through written or spoken words.” This helps explain the popularity ofinfographics, photo apps like Instagram and visual blog platforms like Tumblr. We increasingly consume information through photos, from browsing friends’ Facebook albums to mobile Twitpics. Accordingly, Facebook has made photos a main focus of the new Timeline profile.

So how you tell your story of your network marketing business, what you say, how you say it, will all be a bit easier to understand for your fanbase you’ve accumulated in your new TimeLine because people can see a progressive approach to your business.

800 Million Users?  Yes, Virginia, enough for everyone

So, how do you gather subscribers and fans?  Well, you can start using Facebook PPC.  800 million users are searching the internet daily.  Some of those 800 million users may be interested in what you have to offer.  But first you have to ask yourself, what do I have that can add value to their lives?

There are numerous ways to gather fans on Facebook.  You can advertise using PPC, or you can start some crazy trend, or you can post a viral video, or write a viral blog post.  There’s lots of ways to get people to pay attention to you, as Andy Warhol says, “…everyone has their 15 minutes of fame.”  Some have it daily, some experience it once in a lifetime.  Either way, you’ll be hard pressed not to get the new Timeline on your FanPage toosweet – that means F.A.S.T.

For more information on creating Fanpages check this out HERE.

If you found this blog post HELPFUL, then post below!  I want to hear from you.
