Craigslist founded by Craig Newmark in 1995 as a free advertising email blast for all cool, hip, trendy and amazingly popular events San Francisco had to offer to the sub-culture beatnick crowd.

2012 Craigslist has mushroomed (pun intended) into what is now the biggest free-binator advertising conduit the global marketplace has seen and is now in 50 countries.

Craigslist is Da Bomb.

Newmark, because of his commitment to his vision now has the FREEDOM to do what he wants, when he wants, how he wants.  He lives his PASSION.

Makes me realize I should have probably paid closer attention to those despondent geeks in school and not been such a drama queen.  Cher’s song, “If I could turn back time” rolls through my brain as I write this.

craigslistAs events in our culture turned trendy, pop culture and ever so dynamic, Craigslist and Newmark were right there to be a global influential revolution for free advertising of everything and anything for sale including stuff that really shouldn’t be sale-able.

I haven’t checked Craigslist as of late, but I did see an emu and a camel for sale, or trade.

I could definitely get into riding a camel around to do my every day b.s. saves gas.  Instead of pushing on a horn, the camel spits at your nemesis.  Now there’s a way to win friends and influence people.  LOL.  At least no one would run over me.

Albeit, the whole camel poop thing would really be a hassle for me because California is an anti-sh*t state, so, I forego my camel as transportation dream.  Back to matters at hand….Craigslist Advertising

 What do you want out of the deal?

When I first started using Craigslist as a marketer I can say I made an arse out of my efforts.

Today, I seem to have a better handle at this Craigslist stuff and how it works.  My Craigslist prowess becomes especially fortuitous when I’m listening to rap music (it stirs the creative juices)…go figure.

I can write some killer ad copy and I can get those really cool html pictures working pretty well when I use the Adtracker Tool too.  You probably want the same thing, that’s why you’re reading this post.

You want to be able to advertise on Craigslist with ease and without getting your account shut down.  The biggest nemesis of all, “Big Brother” telling you “You’ve had way too much fun advertising your links here…time to move on little Indian,” is not what you want to hear or have happen to you.

The landscape changes pretty rapidly in this business and the rules are always being updated to behoove the rule makers.  Keep this in mind as you traverse through the video and the *.pdf.  there are some nuggets of information in both the video and the *.pdf downloadable file that you’ll be able to use to increase your advertising on Craigslist.

I believe, if I hypothesize correctly, you want to be successful on Craigslist while advertising your primary company, your affiliate deal, your links, or whatever you got that someone wants.

You also want to avoid the pain of getting shut down on Craigslist and you want to create a better experience for yourself and quite possibly those you teach to use Craigslist Advertising.

With over 30 billion page views per month and over 50 million monthly visitors to Craigslist just in the United States, well the emotional level for a marketer is high when they start to think about all of those eyeballs.  The potential sales are mind boggling if the ad is targeted correctly.  Dont’ start drooling just yet.

The magic bullet…is your ad targeted correctly?

Advertising raises our emotional levels, as marketers, because it the ‘potential’ prospect who will click on to our ad and buy from us that creates this incredible excitement in our systems.

You’ve looked into solo ads and have found them to be really expensive and it’s a crap-shot depending on your ‘free offer’ that you may or may not have in place.  It’s also dependent on that really slick sales funnel you’re going to send them through with all the bells and whistles in place.  The ‘invisible funnel’ is the trend now.

   ….do you talk to your prospects?

With a solo you depend on others to write exceptional copy for your offer.  You want your prospects to be sent to a page that converts because God forbid you want to TALK to these people.

For some reason, the landscape has decided that marketing is clicking a link, going down a funnel and buying your sh*t.  There’s virtually no thought given to the customer experience.

Any ‘uber’ successful marketing professional will tell you This is a relationship business.

So you’ve now eliminated 99.99% of the population from talking to you personally and you’re down to 1/10th of 1%; the rest of ‘em can “leave a message at the tone.” LOL

God Forbid you actually have to have a conversation with anyone.  Well you can at least b.s. your way through it and come out unscathed and no worse for the wear.  Quite possibly,

you may have a heart attack because you have to talk to a stranger, so make sure you have someone in the next room to hear you fall on your face so they can call 911.

How’s that Workin’ For Ya? A Dr. Phil Rant

In fact, I don’t know what channel Dr. Phil airs on and what’s more, I don’t give a shit.

I know nothing about Dr. Phil.

In fact, the only reason I know this phrase “How’s that workin’ for ya” is because I’ve heard it.

I’ve paid attention to whatever popular culture I’m privy to when I decide to bring my head out of my business and take a walk into the world of drama and bullshit, which I try to leave as quickly as I entered!  LOL

So, you think I’m selfish?  Really.

Because I don’t want to watch television and waste important hours in my life that I’ll never get back to watch Dr. Phil tell people, who have made every excuse in their life to have their 15 minutes of fame by being a drama queen, that they’re f*cked up.  What was their first clue?

Maybe you learn something.  Mostly you’re entertained and you’ve decided to ‘veg out’ for the afternoon because life is just so f*cking hard…Even if you did learn something, what about what you learn do you IMPLEMENT?

Do you think Dr. Phil IMPLEMENTS?

What do you think Dr. Phil is like outside of that television show?  Do you think he spends a lot of time on drama and bullshit?  Do you think Dr. Phil sits down for hours on end and bitches and moans and talks about his ‘need’ and his ‘lack’. Do you honestly think Dr. Phil is going to spend more than 5 minutes with you? Probably not, unless you got something that will serve the greater good and increase the bottom line:  the ROI.

That’s why Dr. Phil makes millions each year.  MILLIONS of dollars.  Because he doesn’t focus on the bullshit.

What’s the difference between you and Dr. Phil?  Do you think it’s because he has a television show? What do you really think the difference is between you and Dr. Phil?  I can tell you, it’s not what you think it is.

Dr. Phil decides and creates.  He implements.  Dr. Phil IMPLEMENTS M.M.A. e.g., money making activities.  How many do you implement?  I bet I can tell you, just on average that you SPENT more MONEY than you EARNED today.

95% do that every day.  In fact, 95% will end up DEAD BROKE.  Where do you think Dr. Phil will be?  Yep, he’ll have his millions and he’ll be making more money off that money and then he’ll figure out how to create even MORE from what he has.  Do you think that’s selfish?  You may want to get off my blog right now…we don’t resonate.

And he has more money than most people in this industry you know why?  Because he IMPLEMENTS. He doesn’t wait for someone to make a decision.  He decides.  He makes an executive decision, creates and implements.  He has no interest in mentally masturbating over his decision.  He just does.  Deals with the consequences and moves on.  That’s why he’s got millions.  He’s not that different from you or me for that matter.  Dr. Phil decides.  Dr. Phil creates.  Dr. Phil IMPLEMENTS.

What’s the difference between you and Dr. Phil?

So, what is it that Dr. Phil does that you CAN’T DO?  It’s not that you CAN’T do it, it’s that you CHOOSE NOT TO DO what Dr. Phil does, that’s why YOU DON’T HAVE what Dr. Phil has.  Dr. Phil did what others wouldn’t so that he could have what others don’t have right now.  Dr. Phil didn’t wake up one morning to a multi-million dollar contract to be a television celebrity.  Seriously?  Is that what you think?  Get your head out of your ass!

“Do what others won’t do today to have what others won’t have tomorrow.”

That’s the difference between YOU and Dr. Phil.

My initial investment in Neucopia provides me with a 900%+ return on investment in my first week.

The last time I made that much money I was trading options.

Flashback to life before Neucopia

The Viagara Proposal

It was a Tuesday evening when I was given the opportunity.

I was having dinner with my friend, David, a fellow broker who had been hot and bothered over this one drug stock that would definitively change the way men had sex.

It was bound to be an exceptional investment as he bought me another glass of wine told me about the newest trials and the inevitable breakthrough in male impotency.

Well, anything to help the fellow man (Everyone should have happiness I thought to myself) I clinked my glass to that and the conversation went like this…

David, “Nic, this stuff will a corpse hard!!”

Me, “Really? Yuck, just don’t think I’d like to be with a corpse.  But I think I can see your point.”

(there was a bit more said in that sentence, but quite honestly, I just don’t feel comfortable elaborating…if you’re one of my good friends you can interject what “Nic-isms” you think I would say! :)

Me, “Sounds like something I’d like to get in to if the timing’s right. What’s the put at right now?”

David, “It’s in the high 40′s low 50′s”

Me, “What’s the spread?”

David, “About 42.”

The rest is history and I won’t even tell you what I did that was even more risky than the option because most people would probably sh*t their pants knowing how I hedged this bet to make 2000%+ on my money.  Yes, it’s all legal.  No, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are completely 2000% ALL IN.  ‘Nuff said.

No. I’m not an options guru.

Let’s just put it this way, I got into trading in the early 80′s and have always been a true believer in creating wealth with the opportunities that no one else will take.  A visionary at heart and an entrepreneur to the core, that’s why Neucopia resonates with me so well.

I BELIEVED in something and ended up making 2000%+ on my money on that one deal.
Not typical.  Definitely do-able.

Like I said, the best business is conducted at the bar.

And so went my loan money and then some into a little known drug called Viagara that would, as David said, “…make a corpse hard.” LOL

I traded the option and Off I went to Europe, another story for another day.

I made a 900%+ return on my initial investment having had 3 days to market Neucopia to a cold market of people whom I didn’t know, and who didn’t know me!

It’ turned out to be an excellent investment in more ways than one.

Neucopia Leaders ~ My Day With Rich

Memorial Day 2012 and I’m in San Diego after just having had a mind blowing experience with two Leaders in this industry who are using an ‘invisible funnel’ solution to achieve maximum results on automation.  I won the ticket to the event Online Income Revolution with Matt Lloyd and Daegan Smith, Greg GomezIII and Max Aria, after having launched my own product called Online Presence for Profit within 96 hours.

My product helps newbie marketers understand how to get their proprietary sites up and running based on the 6 Principles of Influence as written by Robert Cialdini.  It’s a foundation.  As is everything in this industry.  A Foundation on which YOU BUILD YOUR BUSINESS.

It’s a beautiful day, just having come back from my run on the beach from Leucadia almost to Del Mar and back and a bit of light surfing in choppy waters with my long board.  I’m happy to have the smell of fresh ocean air in my hair and  don’t want to wash it.  Then….the call.

It was an excellently funny conversation and we found out we have mutual friends in common who I knew while attending Junior High School in La Jolla.  Amazing.  What six degrees of separation will bring when you start to ‘network’.  It makes me realize how much I love the area and how close I am to returning for good.

Both of these companies you should be involved with as an affiliate marketer so that you can learn, grow and achieve financial independence.

If you think people “jump” from one opportunity to another because they market different opportunities then you’re contradicting yourself.  Especially if you’re an MLM Sponsor and you are an affiliate marketer.

You want multiple streams of income from multiple opportunities?  You’ll have to market multiple opportunities.  Make sense?

How to Get the Help you NEED from your MLM Sponsor

 

When we decide to join a new opportunity or business, we want to make the best impression on the people we are going to be working with, don’t we? (e.g., your MLM Sponsor)

I mean, you want to get help and support from both your MLM Sponsor and Neucopia, so the impression they get of you can determine what kind of support you’re going to get.

What you DON’T want to do is start off on the wrong foot and get on someone’s bad side.

Trust me, as an owner of an MLM company (also, MLM sponsor) I’ve heard them all – both good and bad.

If you want your MLM Sponsor and uplines to IGNORE you and hope you quit sooner than later, here are a few things you can say to them:

1. “Well, I hope YOUR system is the one that actually works for me..”

Any time someone says “I hope..” means they want something but don’t want to work for it. Your sponsor isn’t going to spoon-feed you. They’re there to help but don’t expect them to do the work for you.

2. “I’ll give it a couple months and see what happens…”

What this really means is “I hope this works..” (see #1 above), and “If something better comes along next week, I’m outta here!”. Why would your sponsor want to help you if you have no plans of actually trying to make it work??

3. “I’ll bring in my HUGE downline IF you listen to my suggestions and treat ME like a heavy hitter!”

Yeah sure. Heard that one before. I’ve dealt with lots of “heavy hitters” that didn’t even know how to swing the bat. If you truly could do what you claim, you shouldn’t have to publicly claim that you can do it, right? ie. Prove it!

4. “I don’t have a lot of spare time, but this is all AUTOMATED, right?”

Yeah sure, just click the “easy” button and go back to your video games. If you don’t have a lot of spare time, why are you starting a business? Successful people in this business work VERY hard.

I’m sure there are more “gems” like these, but I hope you’re getting the point here.

Now if you genuinely want support from your sponsor, here are some things you can say to get their attention in a more positive way:

1. “What do you suggest I do on a daily basis?”

Your sponsor (and the company) want to know that you’re “teachable” and can follow instructions. This also shows that you’re willing to learn and take on new tasks. A schedule or plan is important to ensuring that you’re consistently working your business.

2. “When can we get on the phone/skype to discuss our plans?”

Communication is the most important part of this business. The fact that you’re willing to get on the phone on a regular basis goes a long way, especially in the “online” industry. Make the call!

3. “Here’s what I did today to build my business..”

Not only does this show that you’re actually DOING something every day, you may even be giving your sponsor good ideas for building their business as well.

4. “Check out my daily task list, is there anything you would suggest I change?”

Again, show your sponsor that you are ready to go and are at least beginning to put a plan in action. Action makes money. They will pay attention.

MLM Sponsors….Take Responsibility

Get the idea? Don’t expect support if you’re not willing to take responsibility for your own actions.

My suggestion right now?? Contact your sponsor and start formulating a plan. Even if you don’t really know what you’re doing, make contact and ask for help. The simple exchange of ideas between you can put you on the right track. Contact them, and make a solid committment to following up with them in a few days (make an appointment), and on a regular basis.

After all, you want to be successful in this don’t you?

The top takeaways from this conversation are listed below, yet, I’d like to relay that this conversation is more than just about how to build an online business successfully, it’s about building your mindset and having a WHY that’s bigger than YOU.  As Aron said, “having a why that makes you cry.”

When I first met Aron Parker, at NESIII in Vegas last month, my first thought was that he was in his element. He was happy, funny, interesting, and INTERESTED. He was building his online business successfully.  He wasn’t pushy, in fact, he was unassuming and he had a genuine interest in me and was just happy to be around everyone.  He obviously knew how to build an online business; he just had that je ne sais quoi about him and he was very secure in who he is and what he believed.  A true trait of an entrepreneur who is building a successful online business.

Aron and I spoke in this interview as to how to build an online business and how to build it successfully.  Aron says once he stopped jumping around from company to company he made it happen and his income soared from less than $1,000 per month to over $25,000 in a little over 2 months.

You said you would teach me how to get on page of 1 of Google. Yes I did.  So what does it take to get on Page 1 of Google?  Not that much.

A lot of people make it to page 1 of Google, but they don’t stay there that long.  In fact, it’s easy to GET THERE, but how to  get on page 1 of Google and STAY THERE? is the real question, and WHY do you want to?

There’s a host of things to consider when asking yourself how to get on page 1 of Google to rank and have your article seen by the eyes who are looking for you.

How to Get on Page 1 of Google with authority in your niche market

First, you you’ll want to honestly answer some basic questions

  • How old is your site?
  • What kind of content do you have on it?
  • What does the back-end look like?
  • Do you have a theme and is it paid for or free (this will make a difference when you start to get more into creating sales pages, optins, funnels, etc)?
  • What are you giving away for free with no strings attached, just because YOU WANT to?
  • What are you doing in your business that others aren’t doing in theirs that sets you apart?
  • What value are you offering?

Now, these aren’t the ONLY questions you’ll want to answer on how to get on page 1 of Google, but they are some good one’s to get you started.  There are many many others you could ask yourself, and you could analyze and over-analyze and come up with a thousand ways from Friday with many other things you could take into consideration when trying to figure out how to get on Page 1 of Google.

  • Because you want leads,
  • you want traffic and

You have to admit, it is ego driven.  We can’t help it.  The bragging rights of being on page 1 of Google for any keyword is quite a feat, even if it is considered ‘easy’.  But the real reasons you want to know how to get on page 1 of Google, especially if you’re in network marketing, is that you want to make money online.

You want people to buy your product and optin to your offer following your funnel down to the ‘buy now’ button and click on it only to send you an instant commission.

No, ranks change daily, hourly even sometimes, if there’s a highly bid on keyword, they can change every time you refresh your page depending on what browser you’re using.

is a constant and never ending quest and one that doesn’t lend itself to doing it once and then letting the post  set there.  How to get on page 1 of Google is really an art when it comes right down to it…but, let’s figure out why I didn’t stay on page 1 of Google for that long and what I could do differently to stay on page 1 for a longer period of time, claiming my stake and creating a massive audience with the keywords No Excuses Summit III Review.

Because I didn’t stay on page 1 of Google means I was kicked off fast by others who had more authority.  Obviously, when I created that post I didn’t think about staying power, I thought about making it to page 1.  The ultimate mistake.   How to get on page 1 of Google is driven by having staying power in the niche keyword target market.  It’s where we want our posts to maintain top ranking for a very long time, not just one day and then boom, ‘you’re outta here’.

There are multiple reasons as to why I didn’t stay on page 1 of Google for the keywords No Excuses Summit III Review.  Some of these could be that my competitors had more authority backlinks, or they had more outbound links, or they had more pings, they could have had more views…who knows.

It’s not something I’m going to spend hours trying to figure out because quite honestly:  It’s not a money making activity.  It’s a RANK.  Rank doesn’t make you money in this business.  Selling stuff makes you money.  You’re in network marketing, you’re in sales, you’re an affiliate marketer, you’re not an SEO expert, and if you are, there’s a 50/50 chance you’re probably not a great salesperson.  But, you know how to market yourself with SEO.

You can take everything into consideration, spend hours studying SEO, write your posts and pages and then you’ll get ranked.  In fact,  if you spend that much time on SEO and study the ins and outs, the subtle nuances and the like, you’ll become a master at it and you’ll be ranking all the time for every keyword you want to rank for and all your articles will be on page 1 and you’ll be very happy with yourself and your SEO prowess.

But in the end, how much money is that making you?  If you’re new to this business, you’re probably not making too much money.  In fact, you’re probably not making any money at all because you haven’t had much experience with network marketing and you got into this business because you saw the shiny objects and the big checks.  What you didn’t see was the hard work and the commitment and consistency that it takes to create your online presence.

with a new site is going to be a bit harder, but not impossible if you do it right.  If you have a new site and you just established it and you’re wanting to rank, you’ve got to have content.  Content is still king and people are still searching for answers on Google.  How to get on page 1 of Google so that people looking for the keyword you’re trying to rank for is really quite easy if you do it right.

It doesn’t take much to get ranked on page 1 of Google in a low to medium competition keyword if you structure your artticle right, and you can drive traffic to your site by having that ranking, and it does help your authority.  But, it’s one piece in the puzzle of the many pieces you have to put together in your business.

There isn’t ONE magic bullet that’s going to put you at the top and make you a million dollars overnight.  Those success stories are true, but they are years in the making; it’s one hell of a long night.

What is your  marketing business?  Are you a network marketing professional? Internet network marketing professional?  Direct sales?  Offline? Online? Outta line?

Where are you on taking your network marketing business and what is your foundation on which you’re building?  As business owners we  have to ask ourselves these questions; they’re not the easiest to answer.  Your marketing business is a direct reflection of YOU, no matter who YOU are, what YOU sell, or what your company promotes.

At NESIII (No Excuses Summit III) this past weekend I heard the underlying tone with each speaker:  set the foundation.    Your marketing business needs a foundation no matter what shiny objects you’ve purchased, you must have a foundation for your marketing business on which you can build and add to make stronger, better, bolder, and have more authority in your niche market.

Most new business owners are all about getting the lead. But,

  • What happens when you get the lead?
  • How are you converting the lead into a sale?
  • What funnels are you sending them down and have you even established a relationship with any of them?
  • Have you spoke with them personally?
  • Have you established contact even before they go through your funnel?

It’s about Your Marketing Business and how you’re setting the foundation,  so,  how do you build your foundation?

Your Marketing Business:  Setting the Foundation with Authority

I just recently came out with a product based on a need I had to create my own foundation on which I wanted to build.  After having purchased everything under the sun and then spinning my wheels, I’ve found that what I really needed was a foundation on which I could build FIRST.  Your marketing business requires that foundation and if you’re being told by your ‘upline’ that you don’t need to set your presence online you may want to re-think what you’re hearing and digesting.

The landscape is changing as is always the case with the internet, nothing is stagnant and everything changes.  Just look at the stats since the internet was launched…you’ll see quite a change and there’s more to come.

The one thing you can be sure of is that your online presence is your foundation and if you can’t build upon yourself in this business then you’re not an entrepreneur.  You got into this business to have the freedom, the time, the money, the things, and fire your boss.  Now, you want to go back to identifying yourself with a product that you need to sell to someone who you don’t know without any foundation to back it up other than that of a company that you got involved with because your upline told you you could make money with this opportunity.

YOU CAN!  Yes, you can make money in network marketing.  But, your marketing business must have a foundation on which to solidly build.

Set up your marketing business with a foundation first!  That’s numero uno and it will only catapult you farther along the stratosphere of wealth and success when your marketing business has a solid foundation.
