Into Network Marketing:
The Beginning
When I started this journey into network marketing I was not suspecting I’d end up homeless and broke. My goal was to be another amazing network marketing story in lights with lots of banners pretty shoes and lots of really cool Lucy workout clothes.
Skinny and tanned with lots of hair and lots of boys chasing me, I had my ‘ideal’ network marketing fantasy in my clutches. I was Nicole Jolie, Tigress of Network Marketing. GGggggrrrrrrr.
I went to bed ~ when I had one ~ listening to personal development and knew my day for winning prizes through affiliate sales funnels and becoming an iconoclast in the community was only a day away. That Audi R8 would be mine.
As I rode my bicycle through the heat of the summer 2010 with up to 50mph gusts on Blue Diamond Road ~ which would set me into the cactus or one time right into an unsuspecting burrow (Yes, I did hit a donkey on the Blue Bullet. It beat out the 18-wheeler coming out of the Quarry that was to my left, but that’s another story.)
I recorded in my head what I would say when I was on stage as a big marketing ‘guru’ and coach.
I would be so elegantly dressed in Jimmy Choo heels and a short skirt just like the really pretty girls and I would have my toes and fingers manicured to a “t” with my hair long and flowing tussled only by my small delicate fingers gliding through it with my ever so fake and fabulous acrylic nails.
Oh I was glorious standing up there with all the kudos and applause.
Reality would set in and I would have to pay attention while driving the Blue Bullet (a.k.a. the bicycle) down the road to be cut off by some manic freaked out and dehydrated Vegas-ite.
But my dream never stopped even when I mounted my bicycle to ride over 25+ miles to the Hilton Hotel (one way) in downtown Las Vegas to work for $10.00/hr at the Bikram Yoga Boutique. I would traverse 50 miles a day on the Blue Bullet riding home at 2:30am in the morning praying to God my body wasn’t crushed under some ‘innocent’ drunk driver who wouldn’t even know they had hit me other than the blood and mahogany flowing hair that had got caught up in their car grill.
Journey Into Network Marketing:
The Dream
My dream was steady on my mind and when I would click clack into the house that I was going to be evicted from I was warmly greeted by my best friends. They knew I would make it to the stage and I imagined if I could only dress up LuLu, Scraptastic, Noodles, Jax and BoBo in cute outfits and put them in the front rows so they could clap their paws. How cute would that be?! I would exclaim in my head with a big smile grateful I made it home alive to see one more day.
Fast forward to today and I’m no closer to those Jimmy Choo’s than I was then, monetarily, but as far as my knowledge is concerned, I have a heck of a lot more now than when I started and I’m a lot more interested in making this into a business as opposed to using it as a means by which to ‘milk it’ and then move on. Because as you’ll see, there are some in this business who like to flaunt the flashy, the paychecks, the cars, the rings and the ‘stuff’, so there’s a lot of bling, but if you look at those who have stayed in this business for a while you’ll see a commonality of integrity and gratitude.
Journey Into Network Marketing:
A Thank You
I decided to make this video for Raymond Fong and Ferny Ceballos (and his brother, Ramiro) because when I started I had absolutely no idea about SEO and would sit on the calls intently with Ferny asking questions in the GoToWebinar comment box ~ even when I was under the tarp (you’ll understand when you watch the video). Ferny and Ray have stayed the course and I must applaud them for their dedication to helping all of us understand SEO.
Journey Into Network Marketing:
The Video
So maybe I’m not able to get my Jimmy Choo’s or my acrylics, but I definitely have the hair! I’m still going strong and even though I may not be a one-hit wonder like the rest of them, I’m not giving up and that’s what makes it most interesting.
